The Story Behind: Pregnancy Affirmation Set
There are certain seasons in life that change us long before we realize it. For many women, pregnancy is one of them.
The Moment
This collection began with an emotion that stayed with me from the time I was pregnant. A question, really, that I couldn't stop thinking about:
Why are there so many resources telling expecting mothers what to do, but so few reminding them how to feel?
I remember my pregnancy was filled with appointments, checklists, research, and preparation. There is so much focus on getting ready for a baby that it can be easy to overlook the woman who is becoming a mother.
As I moved through that season, I became increasingly aware of how much emotional growth happens during pregnancy—often quietly and unseen. There is excitement, anticipation, joy, uncertainty, and vulnerability, sometimes all in the same day.
That thought stayed with me. And eventually, it became the starting point for this collection.
A Season of Becoming
Why This Stayed With Me
As I reflected on my own experience, I kept returning to the idea that expecting mothers don't always need more information. There is plenty of it already. Sometimes what they need most is reassurance. A gentle reminder that they are doing enough, that growth takes time, and that they can trust themselves through the process.
That is exactly what I wanted this collection to feel like.
Not another task to complete. Not another checklist to follow.
Just a quiet moment of encouragement.
Bringing It To Life
While the concept felt clear in my mind, it took some time to arrive on paper.
Affirmation Exploration
I originally wrote more than a dozen affirmations and explored several decorative design styles. While they were beautiful on their own, they didn't fully support the intention behind the collection.
The words felt a little too busy.
The designs felt more decorative than purposeful.
Layout Explorations
So I stepped back and asked myself a simple question:
"What does calm look like?"
Calm Design Direction
That question guided every decision that followed.
The affirmations became shorter and more intentional. The typography became cleaner. The color palette softened into warm, neutral tones designed to gently surround the viewer with a sense of calm. Every element was simplified so the words themselves could take center stage.
Sometimes the most meaningful designs aren't created by adding more.
They're created by removing everything that doesn't need to be there.
What I Hope It Becomes
My hope is simple: that these affirmations become more than something beautiful hanging on a wall.
I imagine them beside a rocking chair in a nursery. Framed on a dresser. Resting in a quiet corner where an expecting mother catches a glimpse of them while moving through an ordinary day.
A reminder before an appointment.
A comforting thought during a restless night.
A quiet moment of reassurance when self-doubt begins to creep in.
Most of all, I hope they help expecting mothers feel seen. Because pregnancy isn't only the journey of growing a baby. It's also the journey of becoming someone new. And that deserves to be honored and celebrated.
A Personal Note
Many of the pieces I create for Kreatopia begin with an emotion rather than a product idea. This collection began with the feeling that mothers deserve more gentleness. More encouragement. More reminders of their strength.
As both a mother and creator, I find myself drawn to creating pieces that help people slow down and connect with what matters most. If this collection offers even a small moment of comfort during such a transformative season, then it has done exactly what I hoped it would do.
Thank you for allowing my work to become part of your story.
